As concern about COVID-19 coronavirus has grown on a local and global scale, our desire is to protect our congregation as well as serve our neighbors. While there are no confirmed cases at Real Life Community Church, we have a responsibility to help manage this health crisis in our greater community.
Taking all of this into account, Real Life leadership have made the decision to hold services LIVE online at 10 AM on Sundays until further notice. We encourage families to watch the service LIVE from their homes and/or invite another family over to watch and worship together.
During this time, we are going to be studying a chapter of scripture each day together. We invite you to study it as a family and share your thoughts on Facebook, Instagram, by texting us, messaging us, or e-mailing us at [email protected] Together, we are inviting God to show us new things in these uncharted waters as we create the space to hear more of Him and less of the usual stresses in our lives. During this time, we desire MORE of Him and STRONGER community.
A Note from Our Pastors:
Jeremy and I are continually monitoring the situation surrounding the Coronavirus. We are in contact with pastors and leaders in our denomination discussing what is being done and what needs to be done. First, we want to remind everyone of the words of 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind! We have the ability in the midst of this crisis to lead without fear, with love and having a sound mind. We all know from the news and personal conversations this week that our world would benefit from a sound mind not led by fear right now!
Below, we address how Real Life is handling each of these things.
We ask you please to be in continued prayer with us for this growing pandemic and the fear that surrounds it. Speak peace into the hearts of family, friends, and church members in this time. On a side note, I have people from across the country who follow Jeremy and I letting us know that they will be tuning in from home on Sunday to watch our service on FB live. Who knows what God will do because of this small step to go online with our service!
We love you all and are praying for you as you lead well through this crisis. I saw one pastor write a note saying that they did not know all the answers because this kind of things is new to them too. We are not pretending to know all the answers or how things should be. We are prayerfully allowing the Lord to lead and guide us and we ask you to do the same.
Pastors Jeremy and Kristie
We are making sure sanitizer and soap are full and stocked for people entering our building to make use of. We will encourage people to wash their hands as they enter the building.
We are asking everyone to worship from their homes until further notice.
We have canceled all in-person gatherings and moved to online formats until further notice.
Preparation for Gathering
Our NA group spent extra time cleaning and sanitizing surfaces this week. This will continue as we remain on alert. We will make sure to clean surfaces and spaces with extra care.
We do not use hymnals or song sheets so we are one step ahead here!
We also do not pass the plate. We will send an email to the church and add to our social media the link to give online and avoid contact with money altogether.
Everyone is encouraged to gather elements for bread and juice to join us for Communion from their own homes.
