But since you excel in everything…see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
It's never been about money for us.
We know church and money can carry a lot of baggage. Maybe someone’s experienced ushers keeping doors closed until a certain amount was reached, a pastor making giving feel like a guilt trip (only to find out he wasn’t even faithful himself), or a deacon showing up at a home to quiz a member about hitting 10%. The stories go on and on.
That’s not us. We don’t do any of that. We won’t knock on your door. We won’t ask for your financial records. We don’t even have ushers.
And yet, we also recognize that faithful giving is an essential spiritual practice, stretching all the way back to Abraham. Tithing - giving 10% of our income to support God’s work - is part of the rhythm God invites His people into. It’s a tangible way to acknowledge that all we have comes from Him and belongs to Him, to participate in Kingdom work, and to grow in trust, gratitude, and generosity.
Many of us have discovered the joy of this practice. Giving reminds us of God’s provision, strengthens our faith, and allows us to share in the mission of His church. Paul calls it “the grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7), and that’s exactly what we want for our church family: a culture of joyful generosity where every person has the opportunity to grow in God’s grace through giving.
To help with that, we have a Tithes & Offerings Box at the back of the sanctuary. It’s there as a gentle, physical reminder that giving is an act of worship - a small but meaningful way to participate in God’s work each week. Even if you give online through the Real Life Community app, seeing the box can help keep the practice in your heart.
Because giving can bring so much joy, we like to call it The Joy Box. We hope you’ll experience the same delight and grace in giving that so many in our church family have found - a reminder that generosity isn’t just a practice, it’s a gift.
